Hulland Church of England Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. We are fully committed to ensuring that consistent effective safeguarding procedures are in place to support families, children and staff at school. All concerns are passed through the member of staff, who is trained as a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) in school in compliance with the Information Sharing Guidance.
The DSL (Designated Safeguarding Lead) is Mrs Wendy Underwood
The nominated Governor for Safeguarding is Rae Alton.
Cause for Concern
All staff are asked to report any causes for concern to the Designated Safeguarding Lead. Any concerns will be shared with parents/carers as early as possible where appropriate, as more often than not there are extremely reasonable explanations for the concern. Concerns may range from children being visibly upset, to persistent lateness, to children disclosing concerns.
Staff Safeguarding Guidance and Training informs all of the following:
Our Early Help Offer
As a school, we subscribe to the Early Help support available for our cluster, which is based at Queen Elizabeth's Grammar School. We are able to make a referral for families to receive support through individual work with their Child Protection Officer and / or their Family Support Worker.
We are also continuing to access relevant support for families offered through Derbyshire: https://www.derbyshire.gov.uk/social-health/children-and-families/support-for-families/support-for-families-and-early-helpaspx
Our Child Protection & Safeguarding Policy
