Our English Curriculum is based upon Ready Steady Write - Literacy Counts. Please see the information below:

Ready Steady Write Overview for Parents

Alternating fiction and non-fiction, each 3 week block follows a four-step structure:

Immerse    Children explore the setting and description with a strong focus upon vocabulary.
Analyse Children explore the text type, structure and purpose the specific genre they will be writing.
Plan Children have quality time to plan and draft their final piece of writing.
Write           The children draft, edit and produce an extended piece of writing which the 3-week plan has been building towards.
Throughout each 3-week unit, children have regular opportunities for incidental writing, this can be in various forms, including: prediction, poetry, setting or character description.
