MORNING WORK (9:00 - 9:30)

Remind your child about the sounds ff, ll and ss we looked at yesterday.

Remind them that sometimes two letters work together to make a sound.

They are both the same letter and work together to make the same sound.

We can write these sounds with one letter but sometimes when it is at the end of a word we use the two letters together.

Often double letters come at the end of words.

Play Flashcards Time Challenge

Select Phase 2 sounds.  This will include all the sounds we have learnt so far.

Play the game calling out the sounds.

Press the green tick when correct.

Play Buried Treasure with the ss sound.

Put the real words in the treasure chest and the not real/ fake words in the bin.

Please talk about the meanings of words because your child may not know what a real words means or may think a not real word is real because it sound similar to real word.

SESSION 3 - HANDWRITING - Choose the letter 'd' and watch the formation saying the rhyme - Kick up, around the dinosaur's bottom, up his tall neck, down to his toes and end with a flick.

Complete the second page for the letter 'd' in their Handwriting Book.

Encourge your child to say the rhyme as they write.

Praise correct letter formation.

Watch the Power Point example again if needed.

If they are finding it tricky, use a light coloured felt tip for your child to copy over.
