MORNING WORK (9:00 - 9:30)


Please ask your child to practise the formation of a letter they find tricky or one you have noticed they don't form correctly.

They can either use their Phonics and Handwriting Book (if they have one) or you can print the formation sheets for the required letter from the website, carefully selecting the pages needed.

If your child is confident with all or most of the letters, then they can copy their spellings into their exercise book.

Look carefully at how they join the letters together and check they are using the correct formation.

Select all Phase 3 sounds. We have now covered all the sounds in Phase 3.

Play the game calling out the sounds you see.


Today we are practising reading sentences.

Play sentence substitution using the sentences - You can hear a goat, They might meet in the town and The shop is on the corner.

See how many different sentences you can make.

Select Phase 3 sounds, play the game calling out the sounds you see.

Play again adding any Phase 3 sounds your child finds tricky and Phase 5 sounds up and including e_e.

Then play - Train your Brain

Introduce tricky words little, one, do, when, what and out.

Recap any tricky words your child needs help remembering.

(Phase 5 Tricky words learned so far oh, their, people, Mr, Mrs, looked, said, so, have, like, some, come, were and there)

Reading Time (1:00 - 1:30)

Read a story to your child.

Listen to your child read their reading book and keywords if they have any.
